ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our development efforts for our Glass to Glass (G2G) reclamation technology. We are constantly improving upon and increasing the scale of our fiberglass composite recycling process. This role will support the design, setup, and optimization of industrial processes that contribute to a circular economy for composites. The candidate will work under the direction of Project Design Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and Engineering Managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply basic knowledge of engineering principles to design in manufacturing engineering and industrial production.
  • Work closely with design team and other disciplines (production, product development, etc.) on multi-discipline projects. Assist in the preparation and completion of engineering designs and supporting documentation such as design criteria, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct a range of laboratory experiments and analyses following established protocols and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify solutions to maintain efficient lab operations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment according to safety protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laboratory techniques and advancements in the field.
  • May assist with research projects and development of new materials (depending on experience).

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to perform hands-on manual labor to support fast-paced setup and optimization of industrial equipment/processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
